Members-only classes and events
Limit who can book a class or event to clients with a specific tag, membership, or package.
You can limit a class or event to a group of clients in two ways:
- With tags: only clients who have a tag you choose can book. This is the simplest way to make a class members-only.
- With pricing options: the class can only be paid for with the memberships or packages you choose. This works best for events.
Restrict a class with tags
Use tags when access depends on a group of clients rather than on what they bought.
- Create a tag, such as "Active Member", in Settings → Clients → Tags. See Client tags.
- Add the tag to each client who should be able to book, from their profile.
- Go to Setup → Service Types, edit the class's service type, and open the last step, Advanced.
- Under Booking restrictions, select the tag and save.
Clients without the tag still see the class on your schedule, but they can't book it. See Booking requirements for details.
Restrict an event to members
Packages and memberships can't pay for an event unless you add it to them, which makes events easy to keep members-only.
- Create the session as an Event, not a class, and choose its service type under Select a service. Access is granted by service type, so the event needs one.
- On the Pricing step, set Payment type to Package & Subscription Only, so it can't be booked as a paid drop-in.
- Go to Setup → Pricing Options and edit each membership or package that should include the event.
- Open Advanced Access Settings and add the event's service type under Applies to specific service templates. Save.
Only pricing options that list the event's service type, or its service category under Applies to service categories, can pay for it. You can leave the event public on your schedule.
Restrict a class with pricing options
- Make sure the class uses a service type (Select a service when you add or edit it). On its Pricing step, set Payment type to Package & Subscription Only.
- Go to Setup → Pricing Options and edit each membership or package that should include the class.
- Open Advanced Access Settings and add the class's service type under Applies to specific service templates. Save.
Advanced Access Settings only add access. Any pricing option whose Redeemable for setting includes the class's session type (for example, In Person) can still book it. To keep the class members-only, remove that session type from Redeemable for on every pricing option that shouldn't include the class, and list the service types it should cover under Applies to specific service templates instead. If that's more than you want to change, use tags instead.
Changes to a pricing option's access settings apply to clients who already own it.
