Payroll reports

What each Arketa Payroll report contains, which columns you get, and which one to send your accountant.

Reports live at Team → Payroll → Payroll Reports. Each one takes a start and end date and downloads as a CSV. There's no QuickBooks or Xero sync, so these reports are how payroll data comes out of Arketa for bookkeeping and for your accountant.

These are the reports for studios running payroll through Arketa. If you calculate pay in Arketa but pay your team elsewhere, you want the payroll report export instead.

Payroll Summary

Earnings, deductions, and taxes aggregated per person across the whole date range, one row each. Best for a high-level view of payroll cost and tax liability over a quarter or a year.

Columns: Last Name, First Name, Contractor ID, Contractor Business Name, Gross Total, Net Pay, Reimbursements.

Tick Select to include contractors to include 1099 contractors alongside employees.

Payroll Journal

The same information broken down by individual payroll run. One row per person per pay period, so a worker paid twice in the range appears twice. Best for detailed audits and for reconciling one specific run.

Columns: Contractor ID, Last Name, First Name, Contractor Business Name, Period Start, Period End, Payday, Payment Method, Gross Total, Net Pay, Reimbursements.

Two toggles: Select to include taxable wages adds tax detail, and Select to include contractors includes 1099 contractors.

Contractor Payments

Contractor payments only, with each payment tied to its payroll run.

Columns: Payroll, Period Start, Period End, Payday, First Name, Last Name, Business, Payment Method, Amount, Reimbursement, Net Pay.

Child Support Payments

Child support garnishments withheld from employee pay and remitted to the state agency on your behalf, with the status of each payment. See Payroll taxes and filings for how to set an order up.

Columns: Employee ID, First Name, Last Name, Payroll ID, Payroll Item ID, Payment Amount, Expected Completion Date, Agency, Trace Number, Status.

Tax Liabilities

A breakdown of tax liabilities for specific payrolls, with all liabilities totalled at the bottom.

Columns: Payroll ID, Period Start, Period End, and Payday, followed by one column per tax. EE Tax columns are employee taxes and ER Tax columns are employer taxes, each named for the specific tax it covers.

This report covers taxes only. It doesn't include earnings or deduction detail. Use it to pull tax amounts for a period, to see the breakdown behind a tax deposit, or to balance against your quarterly and annual returns.
