Upload transactions manually
Add transactions from accounts you haven't connected, import history from another accounting tool, and create custom journal entries.
Connect the accounts you use for business, and transactions import on their own. For business purchases made from an account you haven't connected, upload them from a CSV instead.
Upload a CSV
- Under Transactions, click the upload button and select Upload transactions manually.
- Choose an account under Which account are these transactions from? If you haven't created one yet, select Create account. Create as many as you need to represent your unconnected accounts.
- Upload your CSV. Columns must be in this order: Date, Description, Amount. Click Download template for a pre-formatted file with example rows.
- Click Continue and check the transaction details against your file. If something looks wrong, check your CSV formatting.
- Click Upload transactions.
- Click Upload another file to repeat, or I'm done uploading transactions to finish and start categorizing.
Import from another accounting tool
Contact Arketa and the team will handle the import for you. From QuickBooks Online, transaction-level data transfers. From other accounting software, your year-to-date financials come over, so your year-to-date Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet are accurate going forward.
Create a custom journal entry
For adjustments or individual transactions that don't come through any other workflow:
- Go to General Ledger and set the toggle to Journal.
- Click Add entry and fill in the date, amount, and account name. Debit and credit amounts must match. Click Add next account to include more lines in the same entry.
To reverse an entry, select it under Journal and click Reverse.
