Your financial reports

Read your Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flow in Arketa Accounting, and find your journal entries.

As you categorize transactions, your reports update. Live charts live in Overview, and your three financial statements live in Reports, both in the navigation bar at the top of the Accounting tab. Use the toggle under Reports to switch statements.

Profit and Loss

Also called an income statement. It shows what your studio earned and what it spent over a period, broken into categories that make sense for a studio. Use it to see whether you're profitable, which offerings bring in the most, and where your largest costs sit.

Balance Sheet

A snapshot of your financial position at a point in time:

  • What you own — cash, inventory, equipment (assets)
  • What you owe — loans, unpaid bills (liabilities)
  • What's left over — the value of the business after debts (equity)

Statement of Cash Flow

Tracks cash moving in and out: cash from day-to-day operations, cash spent on investments like new equipment, and cash from financing like loans or owner contributions. Use it to be sure you can cover bills, payroll, and planned investments.

Journal entries

Journal entries are the underlying record of every transaction. To see them, go to General Ledger and set the toggle to Journal.

The General Ledger views are built for people comfortable with accounting principles who want direct control of the ledger. If you're not familiar with accounting, avoid making changes there.
