Arketa

Phone line

Answer calls and listen to voicemails from your Arketa dashboard.

The Arketa Phone Line brings calls, voicemails, and texts together in one place. When clients call or text your Arketa number, everything appears in the same conversation thread — no separate phone system required.

Getting started

Contact Arketa support to turn on the Phone Line feature. Once enabled:

  1. Go to Settings → Phone Number
  2. Select Answer in Dashboard
  3. Click Save

Making a call

From the Inbox or a client's profile, click the phone icon to start a call. During the call you can:

  • Mute yourself
  • Record the call
  • End the call

Receiving calls

When a client calls your Arketa number, the incoming call appears in your dashboard. You can answer directly without touching your personal phone.

To silence incoming calls on specific devices while keeping voicemail and missed call logs in your Inbox, use the device controls — toggle the phone icon in the top right of your dashboard.

Voicemail

Set up your voicemail greeting:

  1. Go to Settings → Phone Number → Voicemail Greeting
  2. Choose one:
    • Record a custom message or upload an audio file
    • Use text-to-speech by typing your greeting

When a call is missed:

  • The missed call appears in the client's Inbox thread
  • If the client leaves a voicemail, a transcription appears in the thread automatically
  • You can call back, reply by text, or follow up later — all from the same thread

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate phone number? No. The Arketa Phone Line uses your existing Arketa texting number. Calls and texts share the same number and thread.

What if a client calls while I'm unavailable? The call goes to voicemail. The voicemail transcription appears in the Inbox automatically, so you can read it without listening to the recording.

Can I forward calls to my personal phone? Yes — configure this in Settings → Phone Number by selecting call forwarding and entering the number to route to. Forwarded calls show as "Unknown" on the receiving end.
